    Q. Who is Filmcan Inc?
    A. We are an Ottawa based company that started in the early 90's as Majik Solutions, providing local movie listings on the Web under the title "Majik Movies". We later partnered with Ottawa.Com in order to offer movies.ottawa.com. In early 2000 we launched our own domain and enhanced the site to provide movie listings Coast to Coast.

    Q. How often do you update your listings?
    A. The Theatres usually only change their schedules once a week, and oddly enough, they tend to do that on Friday's. Our data entry team works throughout the day to provides you with this information. Some regions will be updated Thursday evening, while others may be as late as 5:00 pm EST.

    Q. What if the Theatres do change mid week?
    A. Depending on the changes we may be updating every day, in order to try and stay accurate.

    Q. Yea, but what if they just change their minds without telling you?
    A. We do our best to keep on top of them, however the only way to be really sure is to call the theatre in question (even their own ads have mistakes from time to time).

    Q. Can you put up the French listings?
    A. As we are not affiliated with the Theatres, we do not always know which films are being presented in French. Whenever possible we will indicate if the film is in French (français).

    Q. Why did you move your site from movies.ottawa.com?
    A. Two reasons actually:
    1. The domain name ottawa.com was owned and operated by Magma (our former ISP), who allowed us to use the name movies.ottawa.com. Recently the ottawa.com domain was purchased by the Ottawa Citizen, and we were given the boot.
    2. After nearly 4 years of local showtimes, we felt it was time to grow (and how!). We felt that a new (more National) corporate identity was appropriate.

    Q. Whatever happened to that RJ person?
    A. RJ was a deep deep undercover mole, that we had taken great pains to place within the power centres of the film making world (that's Hollywood!) Unfortunately, RJ's real identity, a well kept secret, was exposed while inadvertantly ordering a Molson 'Canadian' at the premier screening of American Pie. As such, RJ is no longer available to give us the low down on the goings on in Hollywood. We'll miss the ramblings, but life goes on.
